Tom Rossi brings CONNECTIONS back to life!
A rediscovered collection of world orchestral music, newly mixed and featuring an extraordinary ensemble of world-class musicians.
Originally commissioned by Gaiam Inc. as a buyout project, Connections was written and produced by composer and multi-instrumentalist Tom Rossi in just one month. Released on CD in 2008 through retailers including Barnes & Noble, the album never reached digital platforms. After reclaiming the rights in 2024, Rossi is bringing this long-overlooked collection to streaming for the first time, with a completely new mix, fresh edits and an expanded bonus track.
Following his debut albums First One and Salma Har, Connections continues Rossi's exploration of world orchestral music, blending sweeping arrangements, global instrumentation, hypnotic rhythms and evocative melodies into immersive, cinematic soundscapes. The album features master kora virtuoso Yacouba Sissoko, acclaimed cellist Dave Eggar and percussionist Matt Kilmer, among other exceptional musicians. The expanded edition includes "Shruti Love," a deeply meditative piece featuring Rossi's soulful Om chanting and Eggar's beautifully expressive, lulling cello improvisation, developed from the original introduction to "Unseen."
With "Kalimba Soirée" and "Rasa" already released, the third single, "Sun Side," arrives November 20, ahead of the full album release (date TBA).
Nearly eighteen years after its original debut, Connections finally gets its chance to be heard.
